Artists tend to be visual learners, preferring to learn by watching and doing rather than reading a written description. Being a special educator for over 20 years introduced me to the idea of multiple means of acquiring knowledge. Using task analysis to break large concepts into smaller chunks, I developed a unique, step-by-step process for successful skill-building in painting.
Join me to learn how to follow a simple map for every painting, so that there is a clear plan from the first brushstroke to the last.

My watercolor coaching sessions are based on this 10-step curriculum I created over the past 30 years. This curriculum will make your paintings better and more impactful, with the emphasis on the basics of good painting. My instruction never gets bogged down in the technical challenges many books concentrate on. Simple is better.
Whenever possible, I communicate the joy and fun of painting in my coaching sessions. It is important to take your work seriously, but it is equally important to enjoy the learning process and learn about yourself along the way.
