Having fun painting china animals in different set up situations. I find it amusing. Do you remember the Hostess snowballs from childhood. The penguins think it is an amazing snowball both in size and color. If you have not subscribed to my Youtube channel yet , please do. I have some great guest artists coming up to share with you.

While I am training a puppy in real life I am having fun with my little "dog circus" of miniature figures. It is fun to play with proportion and humor.
The strangest thing I ever put in still life was raw chicken. This was a paint raw meat challenge. I should have chosen beef but the whole thing made me queasy. The point is anything can be a still life. It is all shape, value and pattern. It is fun to set up your own world and these china dogs were happy to play with the big shiny "ball".
What was the strangest thing you ever put in still life? As long as the color you are adding is the same value as the shape you are adding it to you can drop color anywhere. I like to drop cerulean blue into the darker fur on a dog because it looks less flat and dull if you do so.
This is Callie our new collie puppy. She is going to be one of the greats! Please join my Youtube channel or tell a friend about it. I would love to grow a bit larger. To keep me engaged in making content. Today I am interested in the big why? Why do you paint? What do you think about when you paint? Why is it important?
What I have learned so far: My big why is about learning every time I try to paint something new. There is more about my why in this video. |
