I finally finished my happy cups painting. It is 14x20. It took me a couple of weeks to finish because of this Her name is Callie. She is a six month old tri colored lady. This is my first female collie and I am happy to report she is super healthy. She is all puppy. Yesterday she discovered she could go up steps. This has never happened with a collie before. I always had a dog free zone on the second floor of this house. Not any more. She thinks stairs are really cool and she likes to keep track of where we are so there is a steady traffic flow going on around here.

Today I share the process of how I mix and match colors to a painting that I admire. I have been doing this for about a month and the result is I am finding new mixes and colors that I enjoy. I call this process "dialing in ". I wonder what you call this when you are engaged in trying to mix a color?
What I have learned so far: Having a goal each day is very helpful. This is not an easy time for me but as always painting provides a safe place to fall. Today I painted some Happy Cups. I bought these locally and plan on using them for a variety of still life set ups. They are just so darn cheerful .
My colors for tomorrow are below . He is super famous and I think I have the colors right it is the ratio that is more towards the warm rather than cool colors that makes his art known by all. Tomorrow I will paint with these colors. Can you tell who the artist is from these colors?
